dugong melaka trip

so, i had an invite to yet another outstation trip with the dugongs! i love trips! even though we had the same exact trip few years back... but i think this time it'll be more of eating rather than window shopping... hehehe... i think it'll be in may.. so... need to check my ALs first...

yeay!! finally can-see-feet water without going over the sea

heheh... had a long weekend off... cause i had an offer to experience can-see-feet water beaches locally... will upload pics and blog about it.. :)
the journey was long and some sort interesting..not that the scenery going there was not interesting but its the company that made the trip less boring hehehe... it's my first time there and it's always exciting to be at a new place.. hehehe...
am still dreaming of the beaches.. sigh......

too routine

after the xmas holidays, it's always back to work, back to routine, back to the same ol faces, same ol road and same ol bloody stupid racists customers... sometimes it just gets too frustrating and boring at times.. but guess that's work, that's how it is sometimes... for some ppl...
but you do have good days, where your superior says something good about u, your friend just gets crazy and starts singing out of tune and just makes you smile, or u get that sms from someone u were hoping to get from or zero calls in the queue...
been trying to find stuff to do to occupy myself when i get home from work... FB, download movies, watch series, sleep... and i'm back into drawing again, though it's been a while since i used a pencil to colour.... fingers get numb after a while... hahahha... kinda budgeting cause i still have my xmas debt to pay up, tht's why i'm mostly at home and online..
was just going through some pics and here's one i took with panaromic view, it was the KLCC christmas tree.... my arab cousins were back this time for christmas and it's the first time they saw this tree.. they were amazed!! hahaha... it's like the biggest tree for them... from the ground floor to the top! hahha... come to think of it, how the hell did they build it!? hahahah

then i came across this pic of food... yea i know, i mostly take pics of food but why did i take THIS pic of food??... then i remembered, this is what i ALWAYS eat, when i get home.... cause, i can never get this type of food in kl which ACTUALLY taste nice... and CHEAP! so, that's why i took this pic!

lets see what we have here, dry wantan koay teow with fish/pork ball soup, dim sum with siew mai and other types, half boiled eggs, oh and i think outside of the picture, there's poh piah and chee cheong fun.. the REAL chee cheong fun... not the lousy kl version... so yea, that's what i always eat the first morning when i'm home! hahahaha... gosh.. i need to go home like really soon!!

then this pic, hmmm... it was the night i was out with rosie pig, stuck in bloody friday night jalan ampang jam... saw my side mirror and saw this site... just thought it was cool... since traffic was not moving... why not.. so i took this pic when i'm on the drivers seat of the side mirror - reflection of KLCC twin towers..
and..... i can't wait for another road trip with TC! heheheh :D

proper post

i know i've been doing reviews on food and places i went and not really writing.. tht's because... well.. i don't know where to start.. or what to write about .. LOL
as i said the first few posts i made when i started blogging, i may use this as a planner or organiser to remind me on what has happened - hence the reviews... :)
so, ok, i'm kinda settled down in my new place.. still have bits and pieces here and there that's still packed or chucked in the corner of my room.. still wondering where to place em... i'm trying to pick out on stuff to give away or throw or bring home, cause my stuff is getting more and more.. and come to think of it, if i move back to my cousins place in gombak.. really NOT sure if it'll all fit! hahahha.... tht's why i need to control with my stuff.. try not to buy too many stuff... esp clothes.. hahahha...
kinda like the location of this place, though i do need to fight for parking AND make peace with cats and their "waste" AND not be bothered on how old, moldy and dirty the flat is... sigh.. guess as long as my room is clean... there shouldn't be a problem because i spend nearly 80% of my time at home, in my room. it's very convenient as well, jusco is opposite, lrt down the road, banks, laundry, 7-11 is behind... no probs.. i won't die.. hahah and if traffic's clear, it's only bout 15 mins to KLCC.. cool?
work wise, jobs opportunity's appearing everywhere and i regret i didn't make a faster move, if not i'll be in a place where i DON'T take calls but i LISTEN and monitor the agents.... but i guess i was not confident (when will i ever be in the first place?) and fast enough to do it (even my resume is not updated!)... and one of us just got it... congratulations! (psstt - dun fail me in my monitoring ah?)... but there is more openings around, just that it's not as appealing as this... :(
*note to self : UPDATE RESUME and MOVE FASTER!!! DON'T WAIT!!!
dun ask about if i had/got a bf for christmas... NO.. didn't/don't have a bf for christmas.. it was me, my friends and family... no special one... and my resolution this year, yes, get a bf by christmas.. but then again... all i can do it wish/hope... you can never force someone to like you.. if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, nothing can be done... my hsemate says i should fight for the guy i like... it's not me as a person to do it, i always believe that it's the guy who is the one to make the move... so, i did try to "fight" for someone.. someone i thought that our friendship was more than friends, and i thought we had an understanding that we both liked each other... but it didn't workout, when i told him how i felt, he just said he already found someone... so.. that was heartbreaking.... and that's the reason i don't "fight" for a guy....
BUT if the guy IS my bf and is about to leave for another girl or drifting apart ... THEN i WILL fight for him... :)
and what about my "expanding my network" - i did abit... through FB, through ppl at the Attic, colleagues... but, nothing's clicked.. yes, we have stuff in common, yes, we do have fun... but it's not the same YET as compared to my peeps in penang... but IT IS a start ..and that's good isn't it? i'm still trying to make friends.. i guess it concerns lots of aspects too... and time... time will bring ppl closer.. no?
i'm slowly drifting away from my friends at home... sadly yes, dunno if it's because i'm not trying to keep in touch as much, or they have forgotten bout me... just that sometimes everytime i get home, so many things has happened and i didn't know about.. until i come home and had to ask.... i dunno la.. i just hope that i won't be like those who leave after f5 to go off to some land over the sea and just loose contact eventhough in school we were liks sisters....
gained weight? lost weight? as far as i know, after getting out from hospital, i did loose weight and it showed! my clothes were all loose... but then i started to get better... and i started to feel my pants to be how it is.. shitty feeling i tell u!!! i don't have access to a weighing machine.. so i wouldn't know if i'm still at the same ol weight or at the weight when i came out from the hospital...
anyway.... guess that's about it on what has been happening.... heheheh i still have lots of reviews with pics... heheh slowly slowly ah? :P
rosie piggy! i want my pics! :P

Eye on Malaysia

heard they're taking down the "eye" at the end of 2007... so daisy and i decided to go before it ended.. but in the end, it's jan and it's still up... sigh.. hahhah.... so Eye On Malaysia... (mind you, their site got music all ahh) is at the Titiwangsa lake... haven't really been to that lake, but i heard it's a nice lake...
decided to go one WEEKDAY, cause weekend queue is always long and it's nicer to see the skyline at night... it's located quite near KLCC and you can see KLCC and the KL tower that looks closeby la....
at the entrance, as usual u will see stalls of food of different kinds, souviner shops, info counter... where everything is all $$$... tourist price what... hahahah

was taking pics outside the entrance and decided to start lining up as the line was getting abit long... that was already nearly 9pm.... luckily they had the brains to put up sheds and ceiling fans under the sheds cause u can only imagine how hot it will be during the day... wouldn't be like caught in the line outside under the sun... can die! hahahah

tickets are RM15 for an adult but they have many many packages and gondola sizes... package for 2 adults 2 kids.. or group of 6 or 8 or 10..... VIP gondolas... this la that la... got to go there to see the proper packages la...

ticket counter

so we got in a gondola, shared with a couple and their kid... nice ppl, we were talking to the lady about this "eye" and how it could be higher, colder (air con was on but not that cold) and how interesting was the concept...

KLCC from the gondola

view from the highest point.. not that high right?

finally our 15 mins or about 10 rounds were up (i can't really remember the exact numbers) and had to come out... anyway, while we were up in the air, they started a laser light show with music and all.... so when we came down, it was still playing and we just stayed to watch abit.... cool stuff... lasers moving to the music with adverts of Malaysia Visit Year 2007... impressive actually... hhehhe

so if u want a night out with a small group of friends, why not go for this ride.. or u have no where else to go for a date, go for this ride.. it's cool! but, must go when it's nice and cooling la... heheeh... wish i went with a bf (which i still don't have) but it was nice to go with daisy, got to know her a lil bit better.. ;)

and yea, thumbs up for the Eye ON Malaysia.... hahahah... (i still feel that sentence is wrong)

the three of em - the eye, the twin towers and the KL tower

spontaneous trip to Taiping

since i had like so many days off for christmas, decided to go for a lil road trip... not too far, not too expensive... so my Travel Companion (TC) was available and followed me on this trip... we decided that Taiping would be a good place, since my TC hasn't really been to taiping, and i have, i could be the tourist guide.. hahahah...

so we filled the car with petrol, made sure there's enough of $$ in the Touch-and-Go card, got our stuffs and headed for the highways... the roads were clear and there wasn't any traffic, we reached Taiping toll in about 1 hr and Taiping itself in 20 mins or so...

as Taiping is known for it's wet weather, it was raining when we were ON our way there, REACHED there till we went BACK, it was practically raining/drizzling off and on... which is quite ok as the air was clean and cool..see the pic above - roads were wet

what was weird that i noticed was that the welcome sign to Taiping is infact the Taiping Prison! hahahah... but they made it look nice so that it doesn't really look like a prison... but then again, with walls like that, who wouldn't know that that is a prison! lol... look at the clouds! see, gonna rain again...

so before we found a place to stay the night, i brought TC around the lake gardens... it's just behind the prison... it wa just one big circle, yet there was so many activities and mini lakes around the main one... there were a few playgrounds, the zoo is there, there's the paddling/boat ride place, restaurants, parks for ppl to have picnics, river sides/streams to wet your feet and chill... lovely place...

i told TC that this would be the place to retire....

so, tummies were hungry, found a chinese coffee shop, sat down in the open, had something to eat and just hung out.. it was cooling, there were no sun, good conversation was going on.... life was good...

and we decided to go round taiping somemore... found this War Cemetry on the way to Bukit Larut... it's where soldiers in WWII was buried.. soldiers of all sorts of races and religion were buried here... and it was surprisingly... NEAT and CLEAN... even better than some gardens in homes!! lol.. may they rest in peace....

wanted to stay at the shalleys in Bukit Larut (Maxwell Hill) but there weren't really proper shalleys and by the time we got to the foot of the hill, the tickets for the Rovers up the hill was sold out/ closed.... yea, if u wanna go up the hill got to get tickets and sit on a jeep to go up... no way you can walk up.. it's it's 10km walking up!!! OMG!

after going around Taiping, looking for a decent place to stay, in the end it was Hotel Sri Malaysia... a franchise of hotels around the world... price was ok, room has what most 5 star hotels had... extra pillows, tv, coffee/tea, ironing board, iron, makan table, hot/cold shower, toiletries (soap, shower cap, sewing kit)... fully equipt... even though the room looked old abit but it was good for the night and it included buffet breakfast too!! hahah

so the next day... gosh, i tell u, here 12pm or 4pm or 8am also look the same and feel the same.. gloomy, windy, cold, wet! hahahah if u dun have the time, u wouldn't know what the time is also...
breakfast was simple and nice... had fried rice and beehoon, half boiled eggs (see how much i wolluped), porridge, toast bread, coffee/tea, orange juice... ok what.. for a place like that.. i'm happy we stayed there... TC was quite content of the place too.. :D
we still had some time left and thought we'd go round the lake again... this time i wanted to go to the place i used to go with my bayan baru childhood friends... there was a swing, a stream, and lots of trees with a maze which i was too scared to go through it.. hahaha...

if u look properly, u can see my whitey at the end of the trees...

then thought of going back to Bukit Larut and tried getting a ride up there to see what's it like.. but it would take a whole day and we didn't have time... we had to go home.... so before that there was a Burmese "Pool" nearby and thought we'd check it out

it was just a waterfall pool made from the rocks.. with muddy water... hahaha... TC said it's muddy because it just rained, usually hilly water would be clean.. but then ah.. come to think of it, taiping always rain so, ma it's always muddy lor... right onnot?

jungle path going upstream from the Burmese Pool

so on the way back, we finally dropped by at the museum.. ready to pay entrance fee, we saw families going in without stopping for tickets... and we asked.. it WAS free!! hahahah city ppl!! malunye....

it was a simple, small... (quite sad) place.... the animals that was preserved, were so called rotting away, the fur was falling, didn't look real anymore, even the bones display was yellow and fragile.. not really a good site... what was more interesting was the old artifacts... not many though but it was cool... :) they also had old vehicles displayed outside...

which reminds me to go to the KL museum again... cause the last time i went, part of it was closed! hmm.... anyone wants to follow?

anyway, the museum was our last stop and after that, it was the journey home.. though i didn't get my sun, sea, sand holiday, this was good enough... but i'm STILL hoping for that holiday la.. hehhehe.....

thanks TC for joining me.. it would be stupid for me to go to taiping alone! LOL

brief visit

ever since i moved to kl... i haven't actually had visitors back to my "crib"... hehehe... even when in gombak, no one came to visit... but that's ok.... now that i'm on my own, i have a lovely visit from piggy...
she came the weekend before new years and just stayed a night at my place... it was good to have a familiar face around and we caught up abit... it felt abit like those dugong stays but this time it's only the two of us... and also it was like our shopping trip we had about a year a go but this time it was in my shabby room and not in Cititel in Midvalley! hahha...
we didn't really have an agenda as she will be going off the next day in the evening... so we just went to get lunch when we felt like it and we around Bangsar window shopping... but in the end, someone bought bajus!! hahahahha...
we had lunch at Delicious in Bangsar ViIIage.. stupid me, i took my camera but left the memory card at home... so piggy took pics but i haven't gotten my copy yet... (ROSIE!!! where my pics! heheheh) ... then i wanted to go to famous Cats Whiskers where everyone talks about this place... unfortunately when we got there the air-cons were down and the place was quite stuffy cause there was so many ppl... was abit uncomfortable there... clothes and accesories are nice.. but i doubt they have my size.. :( but i would go there for the accesories... i wasn't ready to spend so i didn't... will definately go there again.. :)
then after that her honey bun came to fetch her.. so sad... she had to go... but it's ok, i didn't see her when i came home, so it was good...
it's nice seeing u again rosie, wished your stay was longer and we could chat more... but there's always a next time ya... ;)

New Year 2008

HAPPY NEW YEAR my fellow readers!
Hope you had a wonderful New Years eve
and I wish all good things for 2008 for you!
MUACKS!
Love from: Shimmers

me on New Year morning... hang over? nah!
had no plans till the last minute.. randomly called a few ppl, and they already had plans and randomly i called luke and he said i could come over his place for a movie and stay over.. which is good enough for me.... though he his gf and suzanne will be going for midnite mass at SFX first...
so, i decided to take my own sweet time at home, cooked my last meal of the year for dinner and pampered myself with the Starbucks Christmas drink, Mocha Praline ice blended with their christmas desert, they call it White Christmas...

drank my Starbucks in the car on the way to church... didn't really want to attend mass so i stayed in the car, listening to Fly and having my "White Christmas"... service was taking abit too long and in the end i sort of dozed off... i dunno but i just love sleeping in my ride... hehehhe...
it was about 5 mins before midnite and mass was about to finish too... so i went out and waited for my cousins at the porch... so... countdown = waiting alone in the porch for my cousin... hahaha... only about after 10 mins only i managed to find them!... so.. that's my countdown.. i could hear all the fireworks blasting off somewhere but cannot be seen from where we were
as usual, we were all hungry and went around PJ looking for food... in the end my cousin thought of this place - Strawberry Fields.. haven't heard of this place before but it looked ok... simple cafe type of place...

new year ice kacang? not!!

after having some snacks and drinks.. we headed back home and looked into his collection of dvds... didn't know what to watch... and cause we all like Johnny Depp... Pirates #3 it is!! hahahah... we had some cocktail drinks that i got and my mums christmas cakes.. and we started with the movie...
first, lukes gf knocked off.. then after lukes drink, he knocked off.... the suzanne was off and on knocking off.... and i was TRYING to stay awake... lol.. so after the movie, i knocked off straight away.. easy!! and i was on the couch!!! hahaha... luckily the place was on a hilly place and it was cooling...
in the morning... actually afternoon.. by the time everyone was ready it was 2pm! hahhaha...

our favourite - Johhny Depp!

where to go for lunch.. where to go for lunch... in the end, ended up at Jln Gasing again, for ipoh koayteow/ chicken rice.. we were all so hungry, we ate like there's no tomorrow.. hahahaha

after that, the coffee addicts were craving for coffee... then it started to rain.... bloody hell and all the coffee outlets in Bangsar was full... so i decided to go to Delicious.. just love that place for their food and deco... went there just a few days with rosie posie (will blog bout that later)....
sorry to say my cousins said the coffee there was not good.. and service was bad.. which is true, even the last time i was there, service was slow, waitress was "cold"....

by the time tea (or coffee) time was over, it was evening and when i got home.. it was dinner time.. had something light and went off to sleep... so... that was my new years celebration... simple, with cousins and lots of food... though i did miss this times fireworks.... well there's always this years new years eve... hope this time i'll party properly... never actually partied for new years eve.. it was either at home, or friends hse.. or bbq somewhere... never actually partied... sad uh... hehehe
but over all, it was a simple outing, at least i was not alone! :D
happy new year ppl!

Xmas 2007 @ Bukit Tengah

i had about 12 days leave... 6 of them was AL and the rest was weekend and christmas.. sweet no? hehehe... i couldn't have taken those leave from christmas till the new year, boss didn't let.... sigh... :( but anyway, it was good to be back.. really needed that time away from KL...

so, mum showed me these molds for gingerbread cookies... cute!!! so i told her to make em... and she did!! and what i did? i helped ice them!! aren't they cute! hahahha (perasan!) i know la i'm not as good as the professionals but i try, i try.. hehehhe

so 25th night was the dinner at home... the menu for the night? sheppards pie, chicken pie, spaghetti, stuffing (without the turkey), buffalo wings and ceasor salad... and for desert, mum's famous apple crumble, friend made chocolate cake, kuniyaku jelly and... drinks! oh.. of course mum's cookies, tarts and cakes!

who came? jess and brian, ben, sharon & beechoo, chingchiew and angie, thana and gf... dad's friends and mum's friends... nice small group... easy to handle, and managed to talked to all... it was great to see them again, even though i've been back a few times in a year, it's good to see all of at once... though i wished my colleagues could come but that's impossible cause no ones in penang...

cake we ordered... lovely!

mum's spagetthi

couldn't open a 2002 wine bottle, cork broke and fell inside.. so had to strain.. had drinkers in the hse but couldn't open the bottle properly.. fail la ppl! fail!! hahah

remember in my previous posts, i ordered and brought back some cuppacakes... well.. here's what's left after my 10 day's being home... everyone was too shy to try them, giving excuses that they were full from mum's food... anyway, i had to persuey them to try... you shall see the NEW cuppacakes lovers!!!

here are my CuppaCake lovers!!! hahahha...

*CuppaCakes should have me as their promoter man! hahhaa LOL

unfortunately, there was quite a few left and i FORGOT to bring them back to KL!!! so now, i'm bloody missing my christmas cuppacakes!!!
