Stop Island

just had to get away from routine, so i planned this trip with BC, would have loved to go with Sharon too but, well, she's like a million miles away in white man's land.... so, babe? come back soon then we can go together... ok? on?

anyway, i dealt with Ping Anchorage, the travel agent i found on the internet and managed to locate them in Prai and they suggested Tuna Bay. check out their website for the packages. some ppl said it's cheaper to go on your own, but i think what we got was a good deal, and we didn't need to go through the hassle of finding a place, worry bout food, cause everything is included in the package...

we left beechoo's place in butterworth at 5.30am and started to head east.... and it's amazing that on the way there, we actually crossed 5 states!! Penang > Kedah > Perak > Kelantan > Terengganu!! Cuti-cuti Malaysia!!

the journey through Banjaran Titiwangsa was interesting, we saw signboards asking us to be AWAS because of elephants crossing.. who knew, we saw 2 at the road side, having breakfast!! it was our first time seeing wild elephants!!! :D we stopped to take a pic.. and this was the only pic cause after this, they started to charge us and we had to quickly leave!! so scared they'll attack us!! what an adrenaline rush!!!! but i'm so happy we saw them on our journey!

one of our stops on the way, it was one of the stops at the top of the banjaran and because it was morning, it was really cold!!! 20 degrees or something... cold!! brrrr.....

finally we reached. we were so hungry, no time to take pics, we checked in and ate... this pic is when we already changed and ready to go on our snorkeling trip!! Welcome to Pulau Perhentian!!!

relaxing after the snorkeling

we were shocked by this lady, but then again, we were the only malaysians there (except for the staff)... so guys, this pic is for you! hehehe LOL :P

what is there not to like, breakfast by the beach!!

a must have pic - can-see-feet-water!

finally the sun came out after 2 days!! sigh.. catching some before heading home

and it was time to go home... sob sob.. will definately come back again!!

So for more pics, check out my Facebook albums Album 1 and Album 2

walking with spice @ Tropical Spice Garden

i've been wanting to go to this place for some time, since my aunty was so excited about this place, she is always trying to bring my overseas-family to see this place... after all those trip they made, i never did once joined them.... time was always out!
anyway, TC and i went this time, this too is after 2 times being there but not going in because we were actually broke or no time for it....
i like this place, the air was very clean, no one was around, learned quite alot, lots of flowers, HUGE plants, spices of course! and herbs.... though over all i felt that it was abit run down... but then again, it's a good initiative by the owners of this garden!
so if u're visiting penang, this could be one of your stops! :D

there's a very big swing in the centre of the garden, over looking the hill to the sea...
another corner there's a Mayan Hammock, but somehow it got removed, never got the chance to see it...

u can sometimes get big ass mosquitoes.. but not too worry, before you enter the gates, you're given insect repellant - home made, all from natural ingredients!

sorry of the lack of "herb" photos... unfortunately, the herbs being "displayed" were not very upkept, it's either out of season, not blooming, dead, not being taken care off properly... but u do have to go and see for yourself how calm is this place, good place to be away from the city...

normal tuna spread, was ok la

they left 2 dumplings for me, quite ok, though it was soft by the time i arrived

some pics of us :D

#my usual Japanese outlet was always Sushi King, i was introduced to that place and never dare to try other places... but this time, i've tried this Sakae Sushi (in Queensbay).. not bad, they have other/more varieties in their menu... price wise, not too sure, about the same i think.... think i'll go back there for a proper meal, anyone care to join me?

Black Canyon @ Jusco Perda

Black Canyon's HERE!! in good ol' Bukit Mertajam!! lol! hahaha the first time i saw Black Canyon, it was actually in Dubai while visiting my cousin... the outlet in Dubai was not that bad, food was great, they even do delivery! it's one of my cousin's fav take out restaurants...
then after a few years, they had another outlet in KL, i got excited i told my cousin... but somehow, when i was staying in KL, i never had the chance (or even think about it) to try out the outlet in KL

so here they are in MY hometown, in MY favourite mall!! it's now one of my favourite makan places... been there... 3 times already!! LOL, mum's bday, my bday with Jess and Brian, and Godma's treat to me and my parents!!... i've yet to bring BeeChoo and TC there.. i'm sure they'll love it! (SHARON!! when u come back, u must come here!!)
they have 2 big ass menus, one for the food, one for drinks... their speciality is actually their drinks, they have different types of coffees and yogurt drinks and cocktails (no alco).. here i've tried their Mocha ice-blended and mocha float/frost... it was ok.. kinda difficult for me to enjoy cause i'm not a coffee drinker... i do like their fruit yogurts/coctails... they have Chaingmai blast or phuket blast... can't remember the names, but they were cute and funky!

this place is actually a fusion type of food, more towards Thai but then they have the usual steaks, salads, soups.. and of course rice-dishes type of Thai dishes, fried rices, noodles... they're not too keen in the deserts though, quite dissapointed in that actually.. but over all, whatever we ate here.. one word! WONDERFUL!
i'll let the pics speak for themselves :D

green curry pasta

fried rice wrapped in omlette (nasi pattaya ler)

american fried rice

thai carrot salad - thom sum (i think that's what its called)

fried spring rolls

steak
below were dishes we ate with rice...

mixed meat with tofu wrapped in omlette

sweet sour chicken

i love this - cashew chicken

ok, so i know u're drooling now, go.... go to Jusco Perda, ground floor infront of Big Apple.... so since they have lousy deserts, why not go over to Big Apple and end your meal with some lovely donuts?

Enjoy PEOPLE!
