a place without tax

yes!! it's here in DUBAI!! ppl here don't pay tax!!! income tax or even tax at makan places or where ever!!!

and because ppl here don't pay tax... things are SOMETIMES cheap... like wat u say? like my SKECHERS shoes!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!! i got a pair for DHS99 !!!! that's about RM100!!!! and this pair is not to say 2 years old model or something, it's just 4 months model!! can consider it new right!!! hahaha i couldn't resist it, i had to get it, eventhough my $$$ is running low.... i STILL can't believe i got a skechers shoe for 99 bucks! hahahahha......

so u must be wondering what i got... well, got a skirt for debenhams (they had my size....) and my SHOE!!!! heheheh... oh.. and a handbag type of thing at a gift shop... post cards and fridge magnets for my collection... just that come to think of it.... cause the other stuffs i bought were for u guys!!!! got some dates for dad and mum... t-shirt for mum... and middle east sweets for everyone.. and tht's about it really... well i DO have another week till i come back (cry cry cry)... i'll try to finish my dirhams (not much though) at the airport before i leave.. heheheh....

ohhh and i sun tanned today... early in the morning...morning sun is good right? better than NOON sun... fuhh that's really hot!!!... don't knoew if i managed to burn... when i come back, u'll be the judge ok?

but i still don't want to come back to work...

my cousin's kids have exams, so my cousin can't be bringing us 'holiday-ers' out all the time... so will have to be home for a few days... it's fine actually ... but sometimes i get restless... been itching to sun burn again, but scared... cause i had a heat stroke the first time i went swimming at 3.30pm!!!!!

maybe i'll try again in the morning, or later in the evening...

dubai is lovely at night... when it's not to hot.... though i don't think i'll be able to see the 'nite life' in dubai, i guess all clubs are still the same, just that ppl are different and music may be different...

had a chance to sit at the mall (while waiting for my cousin to shop with her husband) and managed to look at the local and not so local ppl around... like what they wear, what language they talk... and the fun part is trying to figure out which country they are from...!!! it's not easy u know.. like in malaysia... u can somehow see if they're from japan, taiwan, india, bangladesh, indon.. but in dubai.... there's so many places in the middle east that u can't say!!!! hahahaha... even the ppl there can't tell where we're from!!!....

i won't be putting up pics of my cousin and her family as they sort of pantang having their pics on the internet... so i'll only put up pics of myself and the aunty that came with me...

there's so much to say.... it's all 90% sand here.... u can't see the black sand/soil that u have at home.. it's purely SAND...!!! like the one on the beach... but FINER.... just imagine if there's a sand storm when u're out-doors.... and it gets into your eyes.... u gonna suffer man!!!!! hahahahha..... but dun worry, we're always indoors... it's too hot to sit outside like outside coffee bean and have a smoke.... too hot!!! oh and ppl smoke in the malls u know!!!!

ppl here, they drink their water from bottled water... not from the tap and filter and boil... it's ALL from bottled/mineral water... just imagine, u wash your food, rice, boil water for tea, cooking... all from Spritzer bottles?? wierd right....

ohh oohhh... and parking here is free!! at least in the malls..... ohh and toilets too are free... though i haven't seen their public toilets yet....

tomorrow is school day, so my cousin will leave me at the mall... so that i won't be so bored staying at home and do my own shopping alone.. yippie!!! but then again... $$$ not so much left... sigh.. should have brought more.... and will have to get a cab back....

i'm glad that i came.... don't know if i want to come again though.... but i'm glad i came ... for the experience... hope we'll go to the beach for my can-see-feet water!!!

yes! i finally arrive!! after getting up at 4 in the morning, 2 hrs of waiting, and 7 hrs flying!!... i'm finally here!!!

the land is soooo flat and it's full of sand!!! obviously right.... its the dessert!!!!... it's like so hot!!... thought of having a sun tan but i think before i know it, i already gotten a tan!! hhahahahahha.... well it's just my first day, so.. we'll see how it goes...

i might go out sightseeing tomorrow, my cousin's kids don't have school till monday, so.... it's all good!!...

i saw THE movie

i guess movies that were made based on books, u can't bring EVERYTHING that's in the book to the movie. it'll take a few days!! hahahha... i enjoyed the movie... i wouldn't mind watching it again...

it's amazing to see the ideas and theories this fella came up with.... whether its true or not.. it's up to one to decide... to me... it's just a book.. it's just a movie... i don't give a crap on whether it's true or not... i have my own beliefs and my own relationship with Jesus and God... and this book/movie will not come in between me and Him....

i love the sceneries there... the buildings... and how they potray things.... it's like Indiana Jones but in a modern way... hahahha... it's funny to see someone following the "old" way (like hurting himself) and yet use a handphone to communicate.... O_o and i'm impressed with the technology that was used when illustrating the Last Supper... higlighting part of the painting and manipulating the images... cool stuff man!! though at one part i think they were promoting the Smart car.... hahahah.... like la as if the car can do those stunts!!! LOL....

can someone tell me if the guy who played Silas (the albino guy) the guy from Coldplay? or was it from MLTR?? or am i totally wrong?

out with my baby

we were planning to go to pangkor but was screwed by the interview i went for the WRONG job... i'm just a dumb ass.... sigh.... so by the time the interview ended, it was too late to go to pangkor....

so we decided to get my pc back from the "clinic"... happy-nye..... and since my baby wanted to get a pen-drive, we went to PC Depot (near Tesco) to have a look.. and also to see see e-Gate.. haven't been around there before.. so ok la, we went jalan-jalan

saw so many makan places there and there was Sushi King... i don't eat jap food... and i didn't intend to, but i remember someone saying, just try eating the "cooked" jap food... so ok la.. as long it's cooked... i'll eat... so i suggested and my baby was very shocked... happy also la.. cause now we can eat jap food together....

then later, still had time in our hands, i decided to go to the beach, the beach we used to go and haven't been for so long.... there were quite a number of ppl there... some with tents, some with BBQ... somehow i was so tired the whole week with not enough of sleep, i fell off to sleep on the beach... and it was lovely!! with the breeze and the sunset.... (sorry baby, i didn't layan u...) pitty my baby, had to find his own entertainment while i slept on the beach.. it seemed he made friends with a small white kid and a beach dog... ohh.. and that dog licked my feet and hair, and i didn't know that... that's how deep my sleep was.... and i thought i wasn't cause i can still hear the waves....

on sunday, we went to the Spice Garden, didn't go in it, but we went to the cafe... lovely place.. not many seats but there were a couple of ppl there... they used park benches overlooking the sea... lovely... it's weird how green the sea can be but when u go to the beach... it's total opposite....

we had chamomile tea and fried chick wings... nice... and just sat there, enjoyed the breeze and chatted.... (though honestly, i just felt like sleeping on the bench... but i didn't want to "not layan" him again like saturday on the beach... hehehhe....)

so before the sun went down, we went to teluk bahang and "burned"... i did the burning, he sat under the shade.. yea, managed to find shade... hehehhe... this time we both went into the sea... nice a cooling after an hr or so burning....

what a lovely weekend... though i think if i went to pangkor i think i'll have better fun there.... sigh...

cousin and aunt

so the english ppl came back to penang, my cousin talullah and my aunty sandy.. haven't seen them for ages....

so we brought them to eat seafood... at teluk bahang... near "The End of the World", we had hare-kor (mantis prawns), crabs, muesles and what goes best with seafood? beer!!! hahahah... nah.. i only had one, to accompany talullah

they, enjoying seafood, the bill came up to RM120 which means, RM30 each which means it's only 5 POUNDS!!! and that's cheap for them man!!

so after that we went to coffee beans, it seems there's none in london.. they only have starbucks and their own coffee shops.... though she's lactose intolerant (poor thing) she did enjoy the ice blended fruit drinks.... she said penang has soo much food she'll get so fat if she decides to stay here!!! hahaha...

so on sunday, the whole family met up for nyonya food at Mama's... the same place we brought talullah's brother Terry (yes, the hunky white guy i blogged before) ... and ate the same food! hahaha

so first we went to Chillout... but i estimated the time wrongly, we were there so freaking early!! no one was around!! even the bar wasn't open!! managed to find a friend there, Diane.... and she told me to go to GLO, to meet her there after work.... so ok la.. we went there instead...

i don't do GLO cause i have this impression of trance and house music and chinese ppl head banging with estacy.... but i was proved wrong (though the chinese ppl part was true... i only saw 1 white guy, 1 indian guy, 1 indian girl... and the rest... chinese - not that i have anything against them) the music was great, they played the latest r&b, pop and dance songs and the club favourites.... Diane was with friends and they were ok, friendly and the sort, but i guess they were just friendly because i brought a white chick? i wouldn't know...

ohh ohh.. and i met my ex-workmate, Eve... she spotted me at first though... i was surprised to see her, not that i didn't think she goes clubbing but i thought she was in KL at that time! hahahah..... nice to see her again...

so by the time we got back... fuhh... 3am la wei.. and i had to work the next day... crazy right...

quick update

so we've moved... AGAIN.... this time i'm sitting by the window.. at least now i get to see the outside and know what's going on the outside!! (weather i mean....)

first day at the new cube... cool... but it gets warm come noon time, cause the sun is beating in the glass.... but all's good, got cool ppl sitting in the same cube, even cool ppl sitting near the cube... am very the happy... oohh ohhh and my table is much much bigger la man!!! ah ma said that even if she gave me a bigger table i'll still fill it with "rubbish" on my cube wall.. hahahah....

ever since we moved here, thought it's only been A day, it's much quieter here... i guess because the team is sitting in a line... not in a group-type arrangement so the noise is distributed.... hahah if u don't know what i'm talking about, it's best that u see it for yourself.... so basically, it's much more quieter which means.... when gahya and i start laughing, we'll attract other ppl attention!!!.... hmmm....... hahaha...

out with the whites

so i finally saw my cousin and aunty...

went to Holiday Inn straight after work on friday, and fuuhhh... my cousin changed her hair colour!!! and look very lovely.... then we met my other cousin and went for seafood! it seems in london, a lobster could cost around RM600+ which is 100 pounds or so..... that's why, eating seafood for them is like GLORIOUS!!!... so we had crabs, shellfish, praying-mantis prawns, fried squid.... and the bill came up to only Rm130+... that's like 5 pounds each... my cousin was dumb-founded... hahahahhah... she was like.. it's only 5 pounds!!!

then we wanted to go shopping at batu ferringghi but it was raining, so we went down to Gurney to show them our kind of hippies... hahahah.... sat at coffee beans and just hung out there and did some catching up.... made plans for the next day too...

was supposed to meet my cousin at the hotel yesterday for some sun tanning - yes i need one, am too fair(dull) .... but first i had to wait for dad to come back after servicing the car... mana tau! i slept off!! dad came back at 11am and i didn't know... only got up when my cousin called to say that she'll follow her mum shopping instead because there was no sun to tan and it was drizzling.... :( so in the end dad and i met up with them for dinner at Mama's .... the same nyonya place where we brought my cousin Terry... (so now, brother and sister and mum ate the same thing in the same place)

so at the nyonya place, it seemed there was a PFS (Penang Free School) reunion going on!!! and these "students" were not going for a 10 year reunion or what... they're OLD.... meaning they were students when my GRANDAD was their teacher!!!! LOL so u can imagine how old they must be now.. hahahahh.... half of them recognized my dad and his sisters and came over to say hi... one of the guys even brought his OLD OLD autograph book... and guess what!!! he showed us the lil painting my grandfather painted for him in the book!!! OMG..... such priceless memories..... so ed and i took a pic of it (will post it up when i download the pics to my pc... talking bout my pc.... sigh.. another story).... sigh... can recognise that signature anywhere... ooohhh that remided my dad, he said he found out that one of his older friends were a student with my GREAT-grandfather!!! hahahahah.....

somehow, the line of "teachers" stopped with my dad's generation....sad isn't it.... no one in my dad's generation are teachers.... unless u call my aunty who works in a day-care centre a teacher... there's no one who's actually a teacher.... and no one from my generation became a teacher as well (unless u call an aerobics instructor a teacher).....

i was sooo full till i got sick!! we planned to go back to batu ferringhi, so all 10 of use were walking in the night market.. i didn't see the point of having 10 ppl walking around where only 2 were interested in buying and 2 were helping to bargain.. the rest? anyway, i vomitted abit when i was walking... so dad, anna and i went back..... was sad that i couldn't hang around with my cousin longer.. but i felt really bad, stomach could burst anytime.... i never felt like this before... and also the thought of me getting up early the next day (today) to go to work.... bblluurrgghhh.....

hope my cousin got her fake stuffs.... and hope that i could meet up with her today.... never got the chance to chit chat with her alone... her mum's always around.... heheheh.... but then again, we all haven't seen them both for so many years....

the ing-ge-rish ppl are down!

gosh!! i haven't seen my cousin for like 11 years!! so she says!!.... and my aunty too... it's been a while.... earlier in the year my cousin Terry came down.... remember... the white hot bod cousin i blogged about? hahahah... yea this time his sister is down!!... don't worry u guys out there, i'll put up her pics too... heheheh

so i'll be meeting them today, bring them shopping and help bargain for them.... though i'm not THAT good.. but i'll try..... and maybe maybe if we still have the energy, i'll bring her out and show her pg night life! hhahaha...

i came to work today soooo sleepy... wonder if i can tahan for a girls night out tonight... i do hope my other cousin will be able to make it... it'll be so cool to have the 3 of us going out.... :)

moving... AGAIN!

yes, we're moving from our cubicles again.. this would be our 4th move since i started work in Sept... can u believe that.. moving 4 times in a short period of time?

anyway, there's the good part and there's a bad part in this next move. the good part is that there are WINDOWS!!! we can actually see the outside world and what is happening, u know we come to work when the sun isn't up yet and we go home when the sun is down, so we don't actually see or feel the sun, unless we go out for lunch la....

BUT the bad side of it is that we're sitting at the walkway, meaning the MAIN-road in the office... where everyone that works on the 1st floor will have to walk past us to their cubes, out to lunch and back and back home.. how... inconvenient!

so dooms day will be on the 16th... major moving will be done.. not only us but the whole department... i can say about 70 ppl? hhahah it's gonna be hayvok!

so... since i'm NOT going to pangkor... *cry cry cry*

i'll work on sunday (earn $$) and stay the weekend in penang to hang out with my cousin...

dreams shattered.... again!

yes.. one of my lil lil dreams was shattered...

was planning to go pangkor this weekend... and was planning for bout 2 weeks!!! everyday i've been planning on the budget, what to bring, what to wear, surfing the net on where to go in pangkor and prices and stuff... and i've told him that i've BOOKED him for this weekend...

but do i get what i booked? NOOOOooooooo last minute he has his mother's company's family day in langkawi where she, his bro and sis and himself will be going... he said i could follow but i have to take 1/2 day leave on friday.... ???!!!!! here i am WAITING to go on that trip to pangkor and u give me this?

i was even willing go on that trip eventhough i KNEW my aunty and cousins from England would be around A MONTH AGO!!....

ggrrrhhhhh... i'm very pissed....

2 years...

bloody hell even my previous pc could hang on for nearly 5 years, if it weren't for my baby, i think i'll still be using it till now...

so my so-called new pc has died-ed on me... 2 years +..... sigh.... found 96 bad sectors and it looks like it's got to be reformated.. NOOOOoooooooo....!!!!!!!!!!!! will be sending it to the clinic and hope they can save my pictures.. PLEASE LET THEM SAVE MY PICTURES!!!!!! PLEASEEEeeeeeee......
