changes in church
went to mass last night for Ash Wednesday, i went to St. Anne's... boy i haven't been there for quite a while... and when i went in i had mixed feelings...
it was the feeling of "back home" to familiar surroundings and yet feel so new and foreign to that place... maybe it's because the ppl i know are "older" and the kids i know is now the Youth of the church... plus, ppl have been married and with kids... wow.. time did really fly so fast...
and... get this.. there are "pillars" of fans in the isles.... yea!! just like the ones in the Butterworth church... what i mean by "pillars" of fans is that on the isle there are pillars and on the top of each pillar has 4 rotating wall fans.... cause the church is so big, wide and airy, there is no wind from the existing fans cause it's so high up... so they put these pillars in the isles.... looks weird though.. spoil the look of the church.. but then, it's either that or air cond the whole church which is impossible cause the church doesn't really have walls.... i know, those who have not seen the church won't have a clue what i'm saying about the church not having walls, but to those who have seen the church will know why i said that they can't air cond the church....
so at mass, i saw this couple, it's my so called friend's parents... boy his mother was a HUGE lady back then, but now.. fuuhh!!! slim babe!.. maybe not that model type of slim slim, but very much smaller than before... i can dare say, 1/2 of her size.... and she ironed her hair... coloured it... wow.. at first i didn't recognize her, but i noticed she was sitting next to uncle (which obviously didn't change) and i knew it was aunty... don't know if she recognized me though....
there u go... u stop going to your parish for nearly a year and u can see so much changes......
